Limited Warranty

1. Scope & Eligibility

This Limited Warranty applies to Prospera Home products purchased exclusively for personal, family, or household use by the original purchaser through our Prospera Home Costco Next website. This warranty does not cover rental, business, commercial, or institutional use.

  • Damage from accidents, misuse, abuse, improper installation, improper cleaning, unauthorized repairs/modifications, or abnormal use is not covered.
  • Normal wear and tear, including changes that naturally occur with use and time, is not covered.

2. Remedy & Repair-First Policy

Prospera Home retains the right to attempt repair before replacement. A professional, licensed, independent furniture technician may be dispatched to assess and repair the product. If, after inspection and installation of parts or on-site repair, the product cannot be restored to manufacturer specifications, Prospera Home may replace the item with the same model or a comparable item of equal or lesser value (at Prospera Home’s discretion).

  • If a customer denies repair services, all current and future warranty claims related to that issue may be denied.
  • If the customer believes a repair is unsuccessful but the furniture technician documents a successful repair, the technician’s report will govern.

3. Warranty Periods by Component

From the date of purchase:

  • Frames: Limited warranty against manufacturing faults and defects — 10 years
  • Metal reclining/inclining mechanisms & springs: Limited warranty — 5 years
  • Electric motors: Limited warranty — 3 years
  • Electrical components; electrically operated lifting/rolling mechanisms: Limited warranty — 1 year
  • Padding & foam: Limited warranty against defects under normal household use — 1 year
  • Leather: Limited warranty against defects under normal household use — 1 year
    • Note: Soiling, fading, wrinkling, and creasing from negligence, misuse, accidents, or improper cleaning are not defects. Natural wrinkles and variations in color, texture, and grain are inherent characteristics of premium leather and not defects.
  • Labor Coverage: Reasonable technician labor charges are covered for 1 year from the purchase date.

4. What This Warranty Covers

  • Defects in materials or workmanship under normal, intended household use during the applicable coverage period(s).

5. What This Warranty Does Not Cover

  • Commercial/institutional use; rental use
  • Damage from misuse, abuse, accidents, neglect, improper cleaning/maintenance, pets, smoke, liquids, or exposure to extreme conditions
  • Odors, stains, discoloration, pilling, or normal wear and tear
  • Variations/veining/grain in natural leather; minor shading differences between pieces
  • Unauthorized alterations or repairs; damage from third-party carriers after delivery acceptance
  • Pick-up, inspection, cartoning, brokerage, and freight charges to and from repair facilities (see Section 8)

6. Claim Requirements (What You Must Provide)

All warranty claims must include:

  • Proof of purchase (original order confirmation)
  • Clear photos of the Product ID label (located under the seat or as indicated on your item)
  • A written description of the issue and photos showing front and side views and close-ups of the defect from at least three angles
  • Your contact information and delivery address

Prospera Home may request return of defective parts for evaluation.

7. How to File a Warranty Claim (Step-by-Step)

  1. Contact Prospera Home Support (see Section 10).
  2. Provide the documentation listed in Section 6.
  3. Response Timeline: We aim to acknowledge your claim within 2 business days.
  4. If applicable, we will schedule an independent technician visit.
  5. After inspection and any attempted repair, we will confirm one of the following outcomes:
    • Repair completed; case closed
    • Replacement item authorized (same or comparable model)
    • Warranty claim denied with written explanation

8. Shipping, Freight, & On-Site Service

If returning a product to a factory or service center is necessary, the cost of packing, brokerage, and shipping to and from the facility is not covered under this warranty. When practical, Prospera Home will utilize on-site technician service to minimize disruption.

9. Limitation of Liability

Prospera Home’s obligation is limited to repair or replacement of defective parts/products, at its discretion. Prospera Home is not liable for incidental, indirect, consequential, or special damages, including but not limited to loss of use, time, inconvenience, or loss of profits/data. Some states do not allow limitations on implied warranties or the exclusion/limitation of incidental or consequential damages; in such states, these limitations may not apply, and you may have additional rights.
